Welcome to Telescreen Towers
Telescreen Towers is an animated interactive experience commenting on voyeurism in modern society. Television, print and electronic media are dominated by products and programming relying heavily on voyeuristic elements and my disillusion with these programs has influenced this project.
Telescreen Tower is home to six individuals and this animation is a snap shot of their life. You can scroll up and down the tower, clicking on the flats to view the inhabitants.
I did a bit of research for this project and took a snap shot of a typical day in television. Only looking across the schedule for television in London between the hours of 8 p.m. through to and including 10 p.m. I found that of the 40 channels surveyed, half featured "reality" programming. In fact, there were a total of 25 shows featuring voyeuristic content aired during the brief three hour segment.

Special thanks to Martin Hession for the soundtrack.
The title is a nod to George Orwell's seminal Nineteen Eighty Four. Orwell's telescreen's sat in every citizen’s apartment. Theses screens displayed propaganda round the clock but the technology was also used to spy on the inhabitants.
